WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DO YOU REQUIRE?

Tommy, or The Holly Duo, are happy to play for a mixed dance programme with dances such as: The Quickstep, The Foxtrots, The Tango, The Modern Waltz, The Slosh, 50's, 60's and 70's, The Gay Gordon's, St. Bernards Waltz, Military Two Step, The Dashing White Sergeant, The Barn Dance, Strip The Willow and many more.

They are also happy to play for an evening of purely Scottish, Ceilidh or Old Tyme dancing with dances such as: Postie's Jig, Caddam Woods, Shifftin' Bobbin's, Fisherman's Reel, Black Mountain Reel, Square Tango, Gay Gordon's Two Step, Eva Three Step, The White Heather Foxtrot, Saunter Together, Mayfair Quickstep, Britannia Two Step, Sweetheart Waltz and many many more.

Tommy is available as a solo act for all tourist related work, lounges, concerts and smaller functions.

LOOKING FOR A SOLO OR DUO AS A GUEST FOR YOUR ACCORDION AND FIDDLE CLUB?

Tommy and George have been associated with the Scottish music scene for over 35 years. Both were members of the Bill Douglas Scottish Dance Band in the late 70's early 80's, and made many recordings and B.B.C. Broadcasts with this 5 piece band. Tommy featured with his own band for a broadcast on the B.B.C. "Take the Floor" show in 1984 with his own five piece line up, with George on drums.

In the last few years they have appeared as guests at a number of Accordion and Fiddle Clubs, throughout Scotland , and have always been well received.

Playing a mixture of good Scottish and Irish music, with a few jokes thrown in here and there, they always guarantee to give value for money as guests at any Accordion and Fiddle Club.

Apart from Scottish and Irish music the duo play a wide range of music such as country, 50's, 60's, 70's popular and Old Tyme. The duo have also been appearing in clubs and hotels throughout Scotland and England playing for all types of Dances, Weddings, Ceilidhs, Cabaret Dances, Parties and Private Functions.

 

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR TOURIST RELATED ENTERTAINMENT FOR YOUR HOTEL OR CLUB?

Tommy has been involved with entertainment, regards the tourist trade, for over 35 years. He has entertained in hotels throughout Perthshire, in lounges and ballrooms, for visitors and tourists, featuring a wide range of music for all ages and tastes.

Tommy is happy to play at any venue or function and for lounge work he can feature a mixture of music such as Scottish, Irish, Country, Popular Standards and Sing-Along Numbers

Tommy can also provide music for Old Tyme, Sequence, Ballroom, Ceilidh, and General Dancing. Over the last eight years, Tommy has organised and appeared in the local Blairgowrie Highland Night held every Tuesday from May to October in the Angus Hotel , Wellmeadow Blairgowrie. As resident Accordionist/Compere on the show, Tommy is joined by a piper, dancers and a guest singer or comedian for this first class taste of Scotland .

This show is now a major tourist attraction with packed houses throughout the summer season. For the last seven years Tommy has also been musical director and accordionist on “The Scottish Night Out” show, staged in Pitlochry town hall on Thursdays from June to October.

The Highland Night show can be booked as a package for hotels, concerts or fund raising events under the name of “The Swing of the Kilts”

The show consists of Tommy on accordion/compere/vocals, Anne Pack with Scottish and Irish songs, dancers and a piper - the show can be altered to fit in with your requirements.

Tommy also forms a duo with Anne Pack a first class singer who plays guitar and features favourite Scottish, Irish and popular songs, under the stage name of “Double Scotch”

Tommy and Anne work well together with some great jokes and patter thrown in. As well as accordion features, Tommy also plays for general dancing if required and the duo are also in much demand for shows and lounge work.

Tommy is also involved in the recording scene, and has now made numerous cassettes, compact discs and videos on the Irish A-One record label and has provide the music for other videos on the A.T. Video label with titles such as: Strathmore and The Angus Glens, Scottish Delight, Beautiful Scotland, Scotland Land for All Seasons, Farming The Way It Used To Be, Gateway To The Highlands, Island Magic, A day at the Plough and Life In Bygone Days. He is now the most popular artist on the A-One label.

In 1996 Irish recording company, A-One Music, signed Tommy to their label and along with producing his cassettes, and compact discs they also signed him to their own video label. A.T. Videos, who are based in the borders of Scotland , have also used Tommy's music on some of their videos including the award winning “Strathmore and the Angus Glens”

All Tommy's recordings contain a mixture of Scottish, Irish and sing-along numbers and all the videos contain Scottish scenery throughout.

Tommy has now become the top selling artist on the A-One label and more recordings and videos are to follow.
